I love that you can tell that the visuals are personal for you and show your place and your world. I also love the speed and the varying tone of your recitation with the video. Simple, but cool!
I remember a poem you wrote sophomore year about a specific place that you go to camp. That's immediately what I thought of when I read the e.e.cummings poem. When I saw your video I think I was a little disappointed because I didn't see the personal connection to the place I know you love most. It was so aesthetically beautiful and can be translated to any person in this way without making it specific to you. It wasn't what I was expecting, but I still really enjoyed your visual explication! Nice work and thanks for sharing!
Like everyone else mentioned, I think that your recitation was great! The melding of your recitation and the visuals added a lot of personal depth to the poem. Nice blog post!

I love your recitation, which is quiet and warm and very appropriate to the poem. And the visual explication is inventive and engaging. Great post!
ReplyDeleteNice reading, Maddie! Good, clear voice throughout and I thought your choice of visuals was pretty interesting. Almost quirky in a way.

ReplyDeleteNice visual explication. I never would have thought of making a video, and I think it worked out really well for this poem.
